~ Bishop's Visit & Mother's Day combined
celebration
Our beloved friend and teacher, The Rt.
Rev. James Mathes, Bishop of
San Diego Diocese, visited us again on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 9th.
We celebrated his visit and
Mother’s Day with a casual reception following the service. This
was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the role of our diocese
among its member churches and the community. |

Crop Walk to help alleviate hunger in our community and the world. |

January 2010 ~ Game Day
St. John's was the scene of
the battle of wits as young and old, singles and families competed at a
variety of games and puzzles. Everyone left a winner! |

Easter 2009 ~ St. John's
celebrates return to Iowa Street home.
After a nearly three year absence,
parishioners of St. John's Episcopal Church finally returned to their
historical home on Iowa Street. To mark the special event, our bishop The
Rt. Rev. James R. Mathes officiated, and in attendance were
representatives from congregations throughout the diocese.
Many thanks to everyone at St. John's and
the diocese who worked so hard to make our return a reality and who made
this special celebration such a success! |

February 2009 ~ St. John's spreads love
at Fallbrook Skilled Nursing Facility
with beautifully constructed lacey Valentines of intertwined hearts,
decorated with “Love Notes” and ribbons and affixed to each resident’s
door. Perhaps their smiles of appreciation are of romantic/sentimental
reminiscences of Valentines past. Our “workers” Ruth Mowat, Marion
New, Peggy Johnson with an assist from Gail Jones, enjoyed this project
and possibly their own romantic Valentine flash backs! |
